Default Ready to Spawn

This gal is "beginning to show" just a little. Smacked a crank bait bashing boulders in about 10' of water. The first decent fish I have caught on the Willy in about 5 tries.Maybe more to come

Wow! You wouldn't think that they would be that fat already. Nice fish.

Yes, Dave I think we've finally warmed enough for the fish to come up.
We were above you on Sunday and found fish up shallower than last weekend.
Reaction bite is on!

Nice fish! I got 3 from my kayak on Sunday, but none that fat. 2 on cranks and one on a Power Craw, all in 6' or less

Looks good, I know right where you're at. Were the Carp jumping yet? Gona swing some cranks through there today.

Yes, I guess this is a commuity hole. A friend was kind enough to show it to me, although the Willamette, like the Columbia, is in no shortage of smallie habitat.
My son and I must not have been on the water more than 1-2 hours, and most of that was him with the motor wide open, as opposed to fishing. It sure is fun to do 50mph on that river, watching th shoreline go by--something I rarely get to do on the C, which is often like the ocean in summer.
We were in the stretch from Willamette Park to Oregon Ciry Falls. My son hadn't seen the falls before, and it's pretty neat to see that entire river take the plunge.
