Default Pine Hollow Res help please

Hi all. I'm heading over there on Sat the 25th to fish the derby. I've never fished the lake before. To all that have fished it before what works best? i'll be fishing out of a boat and fishing for trout.

If you're trolling try running along the dam. You'll notice a ridge that creeps out as you troll just past the dam. Sometimes the fish hang out on the edge of that. Also try trolling out in the middle towards the upper end of the lake. Sweeping into the creek channel once in a while might work too. I'd just troll rooster tails at various speeds. They're always effective at finding where the fish are. The trout seem to like brass/gold blades more than silver, but I've caught fish on both. Maybe put some sent on them. Also running wedding rings tipped with a worm would surely catch fish. If nothing else anchor up and fish with powerbait off the bottom. By the way, the upper end is really shallow in some spots so watch your depth finder, or just look under the boat... Don't know if that helps you much...

Troll by the camp ground boat ramp. I have seen some big fish caught there.

Everyone has good information and if you print off Schmetty's reply you will not go wrong. I fish Pine Hollow and Rock Creek a few times a year and although they fish differently, bait is the key. Pine Hollow, I fish the last third of the lake by the dam with a red or green wedding ring with powerbait or a worm attached and knock them dead, especially this time of year. The lake is heavily stocked for the derby, so it will not take much to entice the stockers to take your bait.

Troll an F3 silver flatfish with a few split shot about 50 behind the boat. Most of the fish are suspended and you will do well that way. For the big brooders, you might try Gulp off the bottom. Saw a guy doing well with a marshallow and gulp last week. He was putting some rum flavoring on the marshallow. He seemed to be catching about 3-1 over the others. Good luck.

Pine Hollow was stocked today! 4000 legals and 10 brooders. Its already received a good amount of fish this year and there should be plenty of holdovers. Good luck this weekend!
