Default Spinner making basics?

I've read through a bunch of old posts and have a general idea, but I need some ideas from the gurus. I've never made spinners before so all the stuff that seems obvious to you is not to me.
I'm going to order up the things I need to build but need to know for springers-

What clevises you prefer?
What size wire shaft? Length, thickness
What body do you use?
If you would post a pic of a springer spinner I'd be obliged. Not looking for your color combo just the general layout of your spinner. Remember I'm green when it comes to spinners.

Thanks
Glow

Pick up the book "Spinner Fishing for Steelhead,Salmon, and Trout" by Jed Davis. Its the bible of spinner fishing. Than get some spinner building lessons out at BC Anglers. Hope this helps.

The book by Jed Davis is a must.

Last spring there was a class offered by Drchair (sp) at Great American Tackle for free on spinner making basics maby he will do another one on the near future.

Go to a local tackle shop that has spinner making components and aks lots of questions.

Here in OC We have FMS, BC Angling, Great American Tackle and just up the road Sportaman's Warehouse. If they don't want to answer your questions and aren't friendly just don't shop there any more.

You can do the basic spinnermaking with just a pair of needlenose pliars. But the Jed Davis book is a lot of help.

Good luck it's a lot of fun.

Are you asking about casting spinners, or trolling style?

Thanks for the info about the book. I'm just looking for the sizes. I think I can figure out the rest. I will be using these from a boat. So yes trolling.
I live out in the boonies so it will probably be awhile before I get somewhere to find that book.

I'm quite aways away from you GBT so showing me anything would probably be a longshot. I appreciate the offer though.

Glow, there are alot of pepes here that can help...As far as components.. (Mr. Bent) Scott can help you with most...Experimentation is a good method also..I started making my own spinners last year...had a wonderful Summer/Fall on my own creations...Here is the one that hooked the summer run of Chinook in the Columbia.

I'm gonna figure out springers on spinners this year...i'd rather have a spinner on there than a big o'l K13-15.

One that will get some hours put on it this season...Color combo seems to be right to me

Wire that i use is .031, #2 clevis'in nickel, i stack a #10,then an 8 bead and a solid chrome bead as a bearing, blade for me is either a 4,or a 4.5 colorado,fluted,willow, or a french..4 or 5. I'm just a beginner myself...but i'm gonna make alot of "them" scratch their heads.
