Default Crooked River

Heading over to the crooked this weekend, was wondering the best place for a crooked river newbie to hit the river, also any other info (patterns, etc) would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First 2-3 miles below the dam are the best and most popular. Lots of good water to fish, you may just have to walk a little to get away from the crowds. In reference to patterns, orange scuds in a #14 and zebra midges in a 16 or 18 and/or copper johns the same size. 2 feet leader below an indicator and try to be as drag free as possible. Good Luck!
