Warm Springs to Trout Creek is a nice day trip... lots of good water, and can easily be done in a 8' pontoon boat. No rapids above class 1

My favorite float is Warm Springs to Harpham Flats. The fishing in White Horse area is probably the best on the river. Also the island below North Junction should be tried.

You should be a pretty competent oarsperson to do this stretch since upper White Horse is not for the faint of heart, especially in a hard boat.

I recommend taking out at Harpham due to Box Car not being hard boat friendly. It is a fairly safe rapid in a raft where you can bounce off the standing wave/shelf on the left side.

If you want a one day float, about all there is is Warm Springs to Trout Creek.

Warm Spring to Trout Creek. Easy drift. Good solid day of fishing. Good variety of water. If you wanted to make an overnighter out of it, you could, as there are about three float-in camp grounds along that stretch. Never done that though. We've done that drift about a hundred times.

I may be missing out, but I haven't drifted any other stretch. If you are going to drift that, you might want to wait until it's open for trout (last of May some time I think). I have the contact info for a shuttle service if you need it - send me PM or e-mail me.

One other thing - if you do drift the lower end - do not attempt to float Shearer's Falls!

Pine Tree to Mack's canyon, anytime.
Over the past 10 years the trout fishing has made a rebound in this section.
Of course in the late summer, early fall the steelhead fishing can be great.
Few of the splash and giggle crowd in this section makes for a better fishing experince.

Float tube, drit boat, canoe or kayak as well as the little air bags all work.
