So rude......
It was 5:30 last night. I was suppse to be home by 6. I cast under a floating log under a bridge. My brushhog hit bottom.. tap tap. Did a home run hook set with braid. Damn it, I drop my rod tip in disgust. I drove it home in a branch..... Then the branch took off like a rocket! I said a prayer and start fighting the fish. fight it for about 45 seconds then there is a log between me and the fish. Just as the fish comes to the surface by the log it jumps. My bait went flying the fish was gone. At that point I realized how big it was. Would have been a pb for sure. Gone.
Not ten minutes later. 20 mins till I was suppse to be home. I cast on top a floating piece of plywood, drag it off the edge, tap tap, swing and a miss. New bait on, back at it, no hit. Cast a different bait, tap, swing, miss. Toss the first bait back out, tap, swing, hooked up. Fish is stripping drag and fast. This is also on a braid rod locked down pretty good. Ran hard for about 20yards in a frenzy. Then, tick, its was off.
2 BIG fish lost in less than 10 mins and im going to be late getting home. Bass are so rude...

Are the hooks pulling???????? Might try backing the drag off just a bit...........

Or try put your drag tight enough that the fish can't pull it out and land the fish.
Nice job at hooking into some big fish.

Drag was set correctly. I also use a 15lb shock leader. frustrating either way. But fun of course.

I don't think those fish were rude at all. If they had been rude they would have just jumped on both sides of the boat and never bit. They bit and gave you a chance. I would say that was down right sporting of them.
