Default Nehalem float ?

Anyone float from Spruce County Park downstream ever and recently. Looking to make a maiden voyage on the river this weekend and seeking some heads up on hazards, scenery and the like. Going along with an experieced oarsman. Thanks

The only thing I'd take down that is a Pontoon Boat. There is some crazy water to navigate. I also wouldn't recommend going over the falls. i never have floated it but have spent enough time beating the brush to know that if your not close to a expert you have no buisness going through that stretch of water. The biggest problem is the color of the water. It is very difficult to see below the surface even when the sun is on the water and it's running clear. If you do go down concentrate on the water from the mouth of the Salmonberry down for the first 1/2 mile or so.

I have seen peaple floating that in small rubber rafts in the summer and low water. Right now it might be a rather hairy ride and rather unproductive. I drove along part of that yesterday. It was high and dirty. I intend to drift from the bridge below the falls to tide water when the water drops. Good luck.
