Default Kwikfish setup

Have any of you Ifishers used the sponge wrap setup on the Kwikfish? I saw a site with it listed. You put in on just like a sardine wrap and add your scent to it. It can be used many times and will hold the scent and release it. You don't have to prepare the messy sardines the night before. I bet that Marie's scents would work good on them.

Hawgcatcher, I've played around with other ways but nothing I've used has compared to a fresh baitwrap. All the little slices (caused by the Miracle Thread) allow a great scent trail.

it could just be me but I dont think I have ever smelled any scent that smelled exactly like what it was supposed to be. herring oil sardine oil.

they all seemed to be rank smelling to me compared to the real deal.

I am gonna stick to the sardine wraps it only takes a minute to fillet one cut it to size and wrapp it on plus it washed off so the mess is no big deal.

Last year we tried putting some green felt pads on our wobblers to hold the scent and the ones without them produced the fish.

The self adhesive would make these pretty easy to slap on the kwiks to hold scent.

I've heard/read about guys using velcro tape. Hooks and loops used for velcro . Guess it even comes in sticky tape ? rubbing smelly jelly into it to milk behind lure ? . I wrap mine with Hering and Sardine fillets . I have a fly tiers bobben with a spool of magic thread to help wrap and tie the cinch knot's while working around the hooks.

I tried those things never caught anything with them(doesn't mean they don't work)as soon as I went to sardine wraps it was fish on.Not as many as the carrot crew but a fair amount, made me and my buddys happy.
I think you should just use sardine wraps a little
more work but worth it.Really !!

Stick with the Sardines. Run some side by side this Spring and record the results. We used them for Fall fish in the rivers this past season and the one with no wrap or a sardine wrap was the one they went to. No bites on a spinge wrapped kwiker.

Sardine fillets changed hourly is the way to go. I have some velcro in my tackle box in the off chance I run out of bait. If I run out of bait, Im usually on the way home with a limit.

I add Anchovie/Salt Smelly Jelly and a squirt (or 2) of Dr. Juice and a dash of Lemon Joy....Sit back and wait for the pound down

Pipe cleaners and smelly jelly. About three tight turns onto the line just above the swivel. Snip off the excess and apply a liberal amount of shrimp, herring or sardine smelly jelly.

The sent will leach off for a looooooooong time and not alter the action of your K-fish.
