Deschutes. I fished today (monday)and it was pretty good. I fished below the White River, and scored about a half dozen nice redsides along with countless Whities. All fish on a size 16 olive beadhead. The BWo hatch was good around 1 pm, but I never switched to dries. It should just get better from here!

fish the water above maupin. i always try to stay off the pavement when i fish the deschutes, but i do have a few "honey holes" along the pavement most people just drive by. when are you planning on going? i have got some great nymph patterns i have tied up that really do well this time of year. let me know when you are heading over, and i will see what i can do.

Stew,
I have hooked some monster redsides at the big campground right above Oak Springs Rapids this time of year. I also like the access Rd. above Maupin. There is some good water right above and right below Locked Gate. The island right below it has some real interesting water if you can wade out to the island and fish the bottom end and the side channel.

What's the Metolious like this time of year? I've only fished it in May-June-July.
