There was an article in the Oregonian last year that indicated people caught them there year around. I caught two small ones in St. Paul this week. My partner caught one. It's slowly coming to life.

My brother and I and a buddy went out on swan island last night and gave it a try on the boat and my brother caught a little guy. We were fishing in about sixteen to twenty feet down. Unfortunatley my bro forgot his fish finder so we were just trying around pilings. We got back to the dock and there was a guy fishing he had a few one very nice one. So like you said I think there coming alive in the next week with warm weather.

This place is located off the I-5 just take the swan island exit you can only go west. Follow it all the way down the hill and stay in your far right lane it will take you to signs saying boat ramp. This area could use a good clean up, but I tell you there's alot of crappie and smallmouth bass. We went again last night and did alot better than the last time out. The dock had alot of action too. Good luck.
