Hey,
In that last picture,
check out the two scum-sucking, bottom feeders
Yeah, that's the first ones I've ever seen in sandals though!

PS: How did a couple of cod fish like you attract those two cuties?

Re: Sturg Challenge Outlook & Pic Primer!
Wow, those are some impressive shots. I've never sturgeon fished or ate sturgeon before...what's your favorite way to prepare it? I know someone said they had smoked some and it turned out great, but what's the best way to eat it? Does it taste similar to halibut or other white meated fish?

Re: Sturg Challenge Outlook & Pic Primer!
I have only ate sturgeon one time. We were sitting in the Bungalow in Carson, after spanking the springers. Fords wife Nancy, brought some in and fed it to me. I told her that was the best chicken I had ever had. Not! Ford had brought it back from Astoria. Wish I was chewing on a chunk right now. XTC, I gotta get you a FEAR NO FISH! sweatshirt!

Re: Sturg Challenge Outlook & Pic Primer!
Bucktail,
most definately serious. Cut it into 1" cubes, toss into boiling water for 3 minutes, dip into melted butter with some garlic. Must be warm otherwise gets rubbery.

I don't catch enough of them to take any pics Oh wait a minute, that's springers I'm talking about
Sturgeon make the best fish and chips a guy could ever ask for. Grilled with a little lemon and blackened on one side makes a hell of a dish as well.

I like to soak the meat in milk and a little salt for a few hours - it seems to draw residual fat from the meat. The deep fry in beer batter....yum!!

Re: Sturg Challenge Outlook & Pic Primer!
here's a hog fattie we caught last year in hammond. 10' of water on a salmon rod. I hooked the brute and handed it off to one of the gals to land. She did a fantastic job. This hog was just so plump, just loaded with meat. I've never taken one that long, large and fat since.
See you all saturday!
