need a starter for a 77 johnson 25 seahorse

i ust traded my van for a 1957 14ft valco aluminum winshield model and its got a 1977 johnson 25hp sea horse and there was a mouse nest under the hood and the starter doesnt work was said to have ran good in 05 so i ned a starter

if out of the eugene/springfield surrounding area would need to be shipped to me have paypal or can send a check

If you look around you should be able to find a place that rebuilds starters in Eugene

I would check the soleniod, before buying or rebuilding the starter.
Check the wiring as the mouse my have chewed some thing.
Starters are expensiv. Let us know!

i checked every wire and theres no chew marks on any i took the starter apart and there was a 1/4-1/3 cup of water/mouse pee mabey in it the bendix doent move i had chanel locks on the shaft to free it up but it would not kick with the power even jumped across the soleniod and got nothing

i checked ebay and around 100 for a new one and called a few places that rebuid them and was tod 80-120 if its rebuildable so was hoping thatsomeone might hav a good used one

Only thing I can think of is some type of rust buster,
to put on that shaft, If I am understanding the shaft
or bendix is frozen?

I have a 20 horse with a bad flywheel. The starter is good. It is a 1966 model found that out when I bought parts for it. Is it compatable?

how many splines/teeth are on the shaft mine has 11 its aproximatly 5 inch housing 8 with the bindix shaft 3inches across the body cld you send/post a pic if possible
