Default Coolant leaking out of my outdrive

I ahve a 1991 4.3 mercruiser with an alpha one outdrive, I am getting the boat out of storage from the winter. It has a closed cooling system and it has antifreeze in it when it went into storage, outside covered with a tarp. Now the coolant is empty and when you fill it back up it slowly leaks out of a tiny hole that is down on the bottom of the outdrive on the "chunk" whee the shaft for the propeller is, not the water intake hole above it, I assume something has busted or cracked...any ideas?

For what its worth when a water pump goes out on an automotve application, water "weeps" out of a hole on the bottom of the shaft. To make a long story short, this is designed to let you know it needs to be changed out. Could this be what your problem is?

It sounds as if one or both of your exhaust manifolds are cracked letting your coolant drain out of the exhaust system. you can remove and take your mainfolds to a marine shop and they can pressure test them.
