Okay, I'll admit that I'm not hung up on having the very latest in gear ("the tackle doesn't make the fisherman,") and, in fact, I've been accused (by myself)

of being a bit of a cheapskate, and I confess to owning at least one fly line made of braided dinosaur hair.
All that said, I've been giving the evil eye to one floating fly line which shoots as if it was a roll of duct tape in its previous life.
With that in mind, I've been absorbing the intelligent exchange on this thread, with a new line in the back of my mind.
So, I found myself at Joe's yesterday on a non-fishing gear mission (Yes, Virginia, it is possible,) and strolled over to the fly line "department." What did I find? Cortland 333s!
What's with that? Is Joe as much a troglodyte as I am? Do they keep the "good stuff" in the back room? Is a 333 a good line but Cortland can't make any more money unless they market "new and improved?"
"Please help," as they say on the internet.
