We spent last week at Clear Lake in 70 degree, sunny weather. On Wednesday my brother-in-law, Mr. Bass, (no kidding), went along as we fished with Ross England of Clear Lake Guide Service. Tom has not fished since he was a kid in the mid-twentieth century and he had never caught a bass until this trip. We took 20 for the day. Nothing big enough to brag about. I got a 6+ and Tom got an honest five. Our guide was the bost excited about th couple of 1- 1/2#rs we caught because they have not seen many juvies this year.
I fished solo for the rest of the week and with the exception of Sunday after the wheel fell off my trailer & boat, I got between 4 - 9 daily. Of course there was the day earlier in the week that the same tire went flat and I discovered that the lugs were too big for my tire iron.
I ran into the Black Tail Fiend who was having adventures of his own, but I'll let him tell you about that when he gets back.
One word of caution at Clear Lake. Do not fish live shiners! It is so much fun, that unless you are more strong willed and dedicated than I am, you will neglect using all the high priced toys that you plan to use while you're there
There can be only one #1
Mr Bass meets Mr Bass. . .Tom's First
Biggest of Tom's nine.
I was there, too. One off the Nice docks.
