I went there last year with the Oregon University Bass Club. I think it was about this time of year. We had 8 or so boats and weighed 3 fish.

With that being said I have heard that Mercer can get red hot later in the year. Fun little lake to fish, lots of structure and weed beds. Hit it right and you might have a blast, hit it wrong and you'll have a long day on the lake.

Hit or miss, but worth an hour and 15 min drive from time to time.

I was there last year in early June. We fished down logs, points and coves. We got a couple of un-enthusiatic hits, but no hook-ups. The water was still really cold. From what the manager at the Mercer Lake Resort related, you do have to wait until Late June or Early July to get the feeders. We came back later with better results, not to mention some yellow perch fishing for the kids.

The spawners you can target earlier, if you can find them on their beds. But remember to try to return spawners close to their beds.
