Default Northwest Jet 22 ft Lightning O/B

After looking at a variety of boats I have narrowed the list to a couple with one being a Northwest Jet 22ft lightning with a 225 yamaha. With the others on my list I have been able to test them out in some pretty rough water but not the NW. Jet. Curious if anyone has any thoughts on performance/stability in rough water with this boat and/or any general thoughts regarding N.W. Jet boats. Most of my fishing is on large inland lakes that are prone to high winds and rough water. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think your opinion of the ride is going to be the most accurate because you have been the only one to experience the other candidates. As far as NW Jet I think they're a great boat, top notch construction, love there windshield/door set-up.

That particular boat and motor combo was on my short list a few months ago when I was shopping.

I have that exact boat with a 225 Honda and love it. Great ride. The walk-through door on the windshield into the bow is a nice convenience on a soft top. Haven't had it really rough water yet, but I am certain it would handle it well.

Could I ask what size kicker you put on yours? I was leaning towards a H/T 8hp. That is what I am using on my 20 ft N/R now.

I have a Honda 9.9 on mine. Truthfully, the boat's so new I haven't used it much yet. I'll be on the big C next week and will report back what I think of the kicker.

I have an 8T on my other boat, and I'm certain it will push this one just fine. They're workhorses.

Watch the weather until there is a nasty day in the tri-cities. Drive to Pasco and go to NW Jet. The Columbia is right there and i'm sure they would let you take it out . My step dad has had 3 or 4 NW's and he swears by them. He's had his all up and down the Snake, Clearwater, and Salmon Rivers in some very good sized rapids...I think you're making a good choice...

One of those good windy days took place this week in Pasco. After testing one out I decided to have them build me a 22 ft. Thanks for all the comments.
