Default T8 first oil change-metal flakes?

I'm doing the first 10 hour oil change on my new T8, and am wondering if it's normal to have alot of metal flakes in the oil. I'm amazed there's no oil filter on those things.

Sounds like a visit to the dealer is in order. There should be nothing in there, except oil if all is well.

That's scary. Suggest you run it then after about 10 hours chage it again. If flakes show up again take it back to the dealer and tell him you want a new motor.

Normal that's why you change after about 10 hours of running time for your first change. The first change will get the loose casting pieces and break in pieces out of the motor.

I recall my Honda BF8 had a lot of metal in the first oil change. And then zero.

Short intervals for the first oil changes can't hurt.

I hate to disagree with everyone, but think about it, Brand new motor, Brand new gears, and things just have to wear together a little. That is why they do the oil changes on small and large motors at 10 hours or there abouts is to get rid of all the new engine wear. I used to rebuild motorcycle engines and it's just part of the deal of breaking in a new motor.

If you took the time to read the posts above yours you would not have to disagree with everyone.
I see this happen a lot on here, a person should take the time to read what others have posted in reply, it is helpful to everyone .

Not a Problem Sir, just trying to help out. However if you would take the time to check the posting times you will see that I was typing (or pecking) while others were posting. I see this happen a lot on here. Folks very quick to jump on others and IT is not helpful to everyone.
