Cool 2004 Honda 8hp - HOT WATER SINK???

I have an 2004 8HP Honda kicker (new round hood model). I am getting a new bolt on transome mount kicker bracket with the hot water sink in it... How hard is it to get the hot water from the kicker into the box. I called the Honda dealer and they said you can do it but they would not do it for me ? Hoping someone out there can shead some insight? Thanks Todd

Why not?

Don't know if you can tap the thermostadt cover then thread a fitting or not, but that's how I did my Merc 9.9 Bigfoot. At the times the water in the sink is almost to dambed hot!

Don't tap into anything right yet. I don't have my boat here right now but I'm sure someone does that can tell you. I know it was extremely simple the way they did it on mine.

Hellibut that would be great if you could let me know. I was a little taken back by the big name honda dealer in portland when they told me they would not do it? I asked why and they said they didn't want to hurt the integrity of the motor...but in the same breath he said you can do it and it will not hurt a thing. So I asked again why can't you just do it. He said it could get them in "hot water" with Honda?

Go here: http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?p=515166

I followed it and it works great. I ended up drilling out a bolt, then welded a 1/4" tube to it. Good luck!

I should have my boat back Friday. I'll take a look and see exactly how they did it. When I ordered the boat they asked if I wanted it this way and so that's the way they set it up.
