Default Ideas for boat?

Hey guys, I just bought a new to me boat today, its a 15ft 1985 Smokercraft, 3 bench seat model. The previous owner built storage at the bow for anchor, rope, etc. In the next 6 months or so I would like to add a few touches of my own, like lights up front for driving at night, more storage, mainly in the middle bench seat, but while still keeping two seats. Adding a few fishing gear shelves here and there. I would also like to repaint the boat camo, inside and out. Then rhino line the bottom, where it will most likely hit rocks this duck season. I was wondering if anyone here made any mods to there boat like this, or might have any tips or ideas that might help. Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about boats but that sound's like it would create a lot of drag. Easier to stay out of that shallow of water I would think.

Put that stuff that you put on the bottom of drift boats on the bottom of your smokercraft...I don't remember what the stuff is called but I put it on the bottom of one of my older boats and stuff was great.

Here is a pic of the fish box that I put in my smokercraft..

I would recomend Glove-It for the bottom not bed-linner. It will glide over rocks and protect the boat better. It the stuff they put on Drift boats. Good luck

One of the handiest additions to my 15 foot Bayrunner were the two tackle shelves I put along the side of the boat between the rear bench seat and the center bench seat. It was a catch-all for lures, knives, pliers, camera, etc. I also mounted a VHF radio under the shelf.

The shelves were made of plywood and a few scraps of lumber, painted to match the hull. PM if you need more details.

thanks for the help and ideas guys. I never thought about the Rhino-lining creating drag, good point. Ive never heard of the Glove-It for drift boats? Is it expensive, and where can I pick some up, a local boat yard? I like the tackle shelves you put on Tinman, I would like something like that for mine to.

I am pretty sure you can get Gluv-It at Joes. I have seen there in the past. Not real expensive and you can apply with a brush or roller, Comes in quart or gallon. This is all from my overtaxed memory and I could be all wet.

Howdy Bro;

About 6 lustrums ago at Kragen Auto Parts i bought a 750,000 candlepower 12 volt halogen enerlite. I use it sometimes when i catch crawdaddies at nite or catfishin', hooked up to a 12volt battery.....................................i also use it on my 16' alumacraft lunker.

On my boat i also put on a Minnkota edge bowmount electric trolling motor (foot control) & an ol' seat with armrests i have from a previous boat. i love it.....................

Best of Luck with yer improvements.
