Default motor hours

My boat has a chevy 350 in it and has been taken care of, the oil is changed every 20 hours and duro lube is added to the oil. It runs very good, but it has over 1000 hours on it now. Compresion is great across all cyl. How many more hours before I should plan on a rebuild. Most of the hours are trolling. I start to wonder how many more years befor major work.

Default Re: motor hours

I think a lot of it depends on weather you have a closed cooling system, and how much time the motor has been run in the Salt. I think typical rebiulds run between 1500 and 2000 hours.
