Mercury 9.9 2004 Carb Need Help

Got a 2004, 9.9 hp 4 stroke I pull the choke and it Starts fine so when push in the choke it dies everytime. Even if I let it warm up with choke knob out. Can anybody help.

I recentlly bought the motor
It has new fuel
New tank and hoses
vent on tank is open

Fact is I do not know if the motor has this problem before I bought or not.

carb needs to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned

Same thing was happening w/ my T8. Cleaned out the carb and now runs fine. My mechanic says to run the motor out of fuel every time. Says that seems to help. His therory is that the ethanol is breaking down in the motor. That is why the crud is not getting caught in the fuel filter.
