Unhappy YAMAHA Outboard Tools

I own a F25ELHC MOTOR with a 1,000 hours on it. Looking to tool up to change out the drive belt. Big problem is that the metric bolt holes on the flywheel will not accept the store bought metric bolts for my everyday puller. The store bought metric bolts start to roll metal if you try to use them.
Metric 8MM holes on the flywheel.
The price tag for the dealer to change the belt is about $200.00 but that would be my last resort.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure that the bolts are the right pitch. I have had this problem with metric's before and I had the wrong pitch on the threads. Not sure about the 8mm.

Looks like there are 2 common pitchs for 8mm. 1 mm and 1.25mm. Try both.
