Default Problems with Caddis Float Tube

I have a Caddis float tube that has two semi-pontoons. Since I got it it spang a new leak eveytime I used it-- usually right along the seam. I've patched it a dozen times, slathered it with Shoe Goo and still find myself sinking every time I use it. I must look pretty funny ou tin the middle of the lake leaning way over back and left to re-blow it up every twenty minutes. Does anyone else have the same problem and/or do you have any bright ideas on how to either patch in once and for all or get Caddis to give me a new bladder?

I had a problem with a valve and e-mailed Caddis about it. They sent me a new one in three days. You can get their e-mail address from: Caddis

I'm with Rodwvr. I had a Caddis float tube that blew a seem. Talked to them on the phone, they gave me an address to send it in, and a few days later, I had a new tube. I thought they were great to work with.

I'm with everyone else who has replied. I used my tube the first time...and blew out the zipper! The tube itself held up fine...but with a sudden movement to turn around on a fish...the zipper let go and I found myself chest deep in the water. I called Caddis up and they had me send in the outer and actually sent me a brand new one.... Said to try not to pump up the tube so much also...I guess that leads to major problems...and there's really no need to make it so full. My .02

I'm glad I got it back in time too...headed to Battle Ground lake tomorrow morning to float and catch some fish.....

I too blew out my float tube. In the middle of Ollalie Lake of course. made it to shore without getting too soaked.

Called them up and they sent me a new tube right away. Said something about older models etc...

Since then it has not had a problem. I second the be careful about over filling these things, when the sun hits the tube it can expand a lot.

I can solve your problem real quick. Get rid of that Caddis tube! I have one also, which has the same problems. I think it would sink if it was on the water with nobody in it. I have a friend in the industry that told me the main guy at Caddis won't even come close to getting into one of his own tubes. Take the plunge and get a pontoon boat. But if you are a lover of float tubing, get a Gliderider or Stealthrider. They are much better tubes and worth the extra money. Outcast also makes decent tubes.
