I floated the 4th through the 6th from Mack's Canyon to Heritage. Myself and two other boats. We caught zero Steelies and some decent trout. Caught up with some friends fishing spoons ect on Sunday at the "bucket hole", they had landed 3 steelies between 12 guys. Floated my Clacker, and it was wild going through the bottom end.
I spoke with the ODFW guy at heritage and he had one confirmed report.
End of July all will be well.
Great beer drinking trip.

Just got back from a two day trip with clients Macks' to the mouth. We fished steelhead a little but concentrated on the trout. The trout were more than willing, we busted a ton of piggies on dries.
The lower river was abandoned, saw ONE guy at the cable hole and a few guys tossing spinners up by Gordon Ridge/Colorado.
One more week or so and we ought to see a good push of those early Rounde Butte fish and it will be dynamite for a week or so and then flatten out until the big push of fish that come in during August/Sept.
If you float that stretch be very vigilant, the water is lower than I have ever seen it. I have seen rocks that I never noticed before.
Colorado is very skinny, you will have to kiss the right side of the monster wave as you go by.
