We camped for the weekend at Olallie Creek on the upper Mckenzie. We walked into Robinson lake on day and fished little and brought back some tadpoles. The next evening, on a tip froma Ranger, I fished Carmen Reservoir and caught fish on almost every cast. I used a size 16 flashback pheasant tail nymph as my dropper fly and it outfished the Beadhead prince I had further up 35 to 1! Half the fish were Rainbows and the other Brookies. It was a hoot. On Sunday I did some exploring and found some water slow enough to fish. (the water really rips up there) I found a classic pool and caught three whitefish and a gorgeous 14" Redside. That fish was worth the whole trip.
