Default Seattle Area Fishing Opportunities Miid March

Hello Anglers. I will be visiting the Seattle area (Woodenville?) from March 8-13. I'm just curious what species will be active that time of year in Washington and what rivers or lake areas would be recommendable and close. I've grown up in AZ and have never fished for salmon or steelhead. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the closest option would be the Skykomish and it is closing 1 March.

The Snoqualmie is also near by. Most likely anything you catch at that time of the year will be a Native and must be released.

If you are looking for a guided trip, catch and release on the HOGS in the Sauk will be open.

You will have better results looking to www.piscatorialpursuits.com regarding questions relating to Washington waters.

Most, if not all Seattle area rivers will be closed by March 1. Whether they'll close the Skagit or not I believe is still up in the air.

So you may be out of luck as far as river fishing for salmon/steelhead without driving several hours.
