Default Schematics

Is it possible to view the schematics for a motor over the internet? I have a 1997 Mercury 8hp that I am having troulbe getting to stay up. My clamp brackets have lost most of their teeth and I thought that was the problem. It appears as though the spring that pushes the lever that carries the shaft that falls in the teeth may be bad. I was hoping to be able to see a functioning unit and how difficult it might be to repair. All help is appreciated.

Thanks,
jb

I just took a look at the Mercury web page. they will sell you a manual
that will show you what you need. but there is nothing on line, that I can find on there web page.
Sorry there not Yamaha. They have the entire parts manual for all models to look at, and to print, as well.
