Default mothballs

I'm having a problem with bugs in my fly tying materials. I'm considering using moth balls but am concerned about any scent that they might leave on my flies. Anyone out there have any thoughts?

I heard something once about microwaving them shortly to kill all of the little buggers. I've never had this problem so I haven't had to experiment with this. Food for thought. Microwaves kill bugs.

I never have had this problem yet, But somplace I read somthing about putting the material, feathers and such in a bag and freeze them for a few days.
Not sure if thats a great idea either.

I've used them for years. They have a smell obviously, but it has never been a problem with the fish

I've nuked 'em in the microwave before, it works. But I also put a mothball in an air-tight bag with my valuable feathers, don't worry about the odor. A little mothball odor is better than a pile of vermin dust!!!

Be careful nuking a Metz or Hoffman neck, you can burn things!
