The lake is great I am bank bound but have had luck casting wollyworms from the bank and letting them drift. Also a bead head will do good for the browns there it is one of my favorite lakes to fish Good luck

I fished Lake Harriett over memorial day weekend with my Father and Nephew. I floated most of the time in a tube with fins...staying only around the launch area. The bank is accesible around there also and many bankies fish there. If you hit the other bank....plenty of fish..browns and the stocker rainbows. Most of the bankies, while we were there, caught the majority of their fish on powerbait or potskies. I fished a fly the entire weekend and did really well on my standards. A black or green beaded nymph paid off...floating line... There are several pockets along the shore line all the way up to the dam. I don't recall the actual length...pretty darn far in a 12 ft aluminum with oars and a busted electric motor. Gas is allowed on the lake...didn't know that when heading out. There was little wind and only needed about 100ft of anchor rope. Good luck and knock em' out!

What's a potskie?

Harriet is a place for many. Great fishing or a bust. I love it any time except the weekend. Weekends the 'necks hatch and crawl all over the banks with brews and open car doors blaring Steppenwolf or George Thorogood.

As you can tell, I love the place but my time can change based on the company I am keeping there. It's pretty quiet and peaceful if all have the same goal.

Potskies....(spelling??) are those single eggs that come in the glass jar..with the green lid... I will have to agree with you PitsburgD...lot's of dudes hanging on the bank...with the loud music...and that low hanging smoke...you know the smoke that smells very simular to a skunk.... I couldn't beleive how non schelaunt those guys were about their weed smokin'...my nephew, age 7 was sitting there on the bank along with this guys kid...as he lit up....TACKY!
