Default Gear bag idea

I'm not sure if this is old news, but I though I'd pass along my new found solution to stowing my gear - baseball bat and gear bags.

I got my Nike bat bag less than $20. The bottom bat storage pocket is great for up to 3 piece rods and the helmet storage pocket holds my wading boots (although a bit snugly). The main gear compartment hold vest, reels, net, waders, ect.

While I'd like to own (and probably eventually will) own one of the whizbang Orvis or Cabelas wader/boot/gear bags, the baseball/softball bat bag seems to serve the purpose at a bargain price.

Luselinez,
Stowing gear is something I'm always changing and trying out different ways to go. It usually turns out something like organized mayhem, but I haven't lost much stuff on my trips.

I was thinking about starting a new thread about this but thought I'd continue this on Your thread. When I bank fish I usually wear my fishing vest, but my buddy carries a canvis bag on a strap over his shoulder. He was just saying the other day that it would be wonderful if someone sold a good bag or creel? that would be more functional and classy for this.

Does anyone know of a good shoulder(fishing) bag?

I prefer either small backpacking packs or a large rucksack to carry the waders, boots, reels, fly boxes, food, drinks, etc. I find this much easier than carrying a load in my hand over a distance. I usually carry the rod in my hand or strap it down to the side of a pack on open trails. A nice supportive pack can really make a difference over a long haul...like a several mile hike up the Deschute River.
