Default Rock Creek, Montana

My son and I floated from Gille's to Red Bridge - 23 mi, both Sat. and Sun. we caught some very nice browns and cuttbows. The salmon fly hatch is on !! This is Rock Creek about 20 mi. east of Missoula, what a great stream. We were 15ft. from a cow moose and her calf as we came around a bend in the stream. There was quite a bit of raft traffic both days, as the stream closes to floating July 1, I believe. We used a variety of salmon flies and caught fish on every one. We used 4 Rivers Shuttle Service both days, seemed a bit high at $35. I don't know what the water temp was but it was COLD and on the high side.
What a beautiful valley and the wildlife we saw were just as nice. 2 moose and one calf, big horn sheep, bunch of deer and birds I haven't seen before. A great trip and even better to spend time with the son. He lives in Whitefish, so the sights are not new to him but for me, what a treat.
