Default Sandy River Spey Clave

Hey,
It's been awhile since I posted but wanted to take a moment and see if anybody attended the Sandy River Spey Clave about a week ago? It was a tremendous event and this was the 3rd year for it. Some of the top Spey Casters in the world were there, Simon Gawesworth, Andy Murray, Dr. Way Yin, and Steve Choate to name a few. In addition to the demonstrations on casting, Sage, Scott, Thomas & Thomas and others were there to let you throw their rods. Unfortunately I still didn't get a chance to meet any other Spey casters from Oregon but it was a great event.

Did anybody from this forum attend?

I attended albeit briefly. I had been planning to go for awhile and on Sunday was ready to head out and invited my better half along....she has absolutely no interest in fishing so I told her it was a beautiful park and she could walk the dogs......big mistake. I forgot you couldn't have dogs in the park. She had to sit outside the park entrance while I went inside for an hour.
I definately could have stayed all day...the presentations and speakers I was fortuneate enough to catch were great...but alas, I had opened my big mouth that morning and for this I had to pay. I'm looking forward to the next one sans dogs and lady.

My dad (Spookalotafish Sr.) and I went on Saturday. I was surprised no one was attempting to sell any gear.

Those guys flat out know what they're doing. It was a good event, I picked up some good tips and learned a new cast. There should be a video released sometime in the next couple of months on the event.

It was a little crowded with everyone trying to churn butter with the available demos, so we went downstream to practice and see what we learned... Apparently not much penetrated my thick skull, no flow, no grace and of course, no fish... Oh well, I'll just keep practicing.

Tight lines.
