Default Deschutes Report 5-23

Fished Warmsprings to Trout creek on Friday.
The salmon fly hatch is on, big time!! The surface action was slow but did good on your usual nymphs.

Hey LB: Where did you fish? Maupin? I was there yesterday and only saw a few stones and only 1 salmon fly. We need some more warm days. I think that we are a least a week away from the "break out". fishrite

fishrite,
We put in at Warmsprings (not Maupin) sorry. Along the way to Troutcreek as I fished, when under the trees, they had Salmonflies crawling all over. By the time we took out at TC about 8:00PM the skys were filled with thousands and thousands of them.
The last place I fished I got this shot.

It was hot yesterday, both temperature and action. WS to TC was great for dry fly and nymph action.

Good takes on you usual stone fly imitations. Bugs are everywhere.
