Default steelhead drift rod, Rogue or St croix?

Never used either Rogue nor St Croix brands, Had a lamiglas certified pro 6-10 mod action tooo flimsy for my liking, although light weight..
contemplating wether to go with the:

St Croix Avid III - 9'6'' 4-10 med/light power, fast action. black matte finish.

OR

Rogue SH - 964c -2 9'6'' 6-12 med/light power, moderate fast action.

Plan mainly for drift fishing winter and summer run steelhead. Using 8lb Ultra green.

My main rod characteristic needs: Ultra sensitive feel, fast action/forgiving tip, Soft shock absorbing load..

I know its 2 different companies who rate their rod "action" differently, if anyone can give first hand input on Rogues "mod/fast" action and how fast it really is..

Any feedback would be appreciated..Staying away from Loomis, and trying something other than certified pro lami's.

You might also consider a rainshadow. I had one built last year by TH and love the thing. Even I can feel them bite with it and yes, I've tried both of the "L's" rods and have done a little fishing with Rogues as well. Keep the options open. Good luck.

I have been fishing with Rogue rods for Salmon for awhile, they are nice rods. I have built several St. Croix rods for people before and they are nice. I would recommend either. Email me about the Rainshadow rods, I like them too.

I use an avid 9' 4-8lb. It's a nice sensitive rod with plenty of backbone. As I get older, it's harder for me to detect soft takes, but I've been doing ok with this rod.
