Every tried the big ol Mouse fly? A fly made of Deer hair. Same size as a mouse and it works on big bass. Talk about some hard core action when fly fishing at night time for big trout on ponds with them things. I've caught some of the biggest trout ever fly fishing at night with a mouse fly.

IMHO, nothing beats a big old popper when flyfishing for bass. I used to chuck poppers in the Everglades and get bit (by either a bass, bream, bluegill, or tilapia) on just about every cast.

Talk about fun and easy. Just fling it out there and -- Twitch, twitch, pop. Twitch, twitch pop. Twitch, BOOOM!, Fish On!

i've been fishing a lot of 6-8" long divers for pike in the last few weeks here in minnesota. i'm constantly amazed at the way bass will hit them. i've caught 8" bass on it and 20" ones too. and then there's the pike

and when we're pike fishing we cast it out there and then strip like hell. my arms hurt after a few hours of pike fishing from all the fast stripping and casting. the strikes you get from both pike and bass on a fast moving fly are something else...
