Ferro-cement boats are made out of concrete reinforced with steel mesh. Thirty-five years ago, it was a big deal, especially for home-built boats and big sailboats. Supposedly ferro-cement boats were strong and light. However, the idea never caught on very well. My guess is that they had corrosion problems.
