I can think of three.
1. Olive wooly bugger
2. Olive wooly bugger
and last but not least..............
3. Olive wooly bugger

Actually my list would look something like this.
1. Olive wooly bugger - 8,10,12
2. Kaufman's dragonfly nymph 8,10
3. Damselfly nymph's 10,12,14
4. Pheasant tail nymph 14 - 18 (Fish on a trailer off of your bigger lead fly on 2 - 3 lb tippet
5. Chirominid paupae suspended under a strike indicator. (Takes lots of patience)
6. Prince Nymph
7. Any leach type patterns (I like an articulated Bunny leach). Strip fast and you may get a BIG surprise.

Use an intermediate sinking line or a slow sinking sink tip and a minimum of 14 feet of tapered leader and tippet. (I use up to 20')

Keep another rod loaded with a full floating line
ready to go for dryfly or surface film (emerger) action. Also what you want for the chirominid fishing.

I'd agree with Tanner, but I've done well on a bear hair leech, pretty close to an olive bugger, but the body is brown and rough. Vary the retrieve till you find what's best. I like an steady 2-3" strip. Hold on!

Last time I was there for openning weekend the dry fly action was so intense. I was too busy trying to match the hatch to try buggers or any under surface fly. Take everything including the kitchen sink!!!

Default Fly Advice for Crane Prairie?

Any advice for some good fly choices for Crane Prairie next weekend? I haven't fished there before so any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

I'll be heading over to Crain this weekend and am hoping to tie into some fish on the fly. Ive gotten some good information on what flies to use but now im looking for some locations to hit. I know Rock creek can be productive ive seen lots of people fish that from float tubes but are there any other spots near the shore that wont take me a day to kick to? any info would be great. Thanks in advance. Wish me luck.

Lets see some pictures when you get back! Doesn't seem like there are enough pictures on the 'Flies and Lies' board!
