Default Jet motor kicks up? HELP

So i have a 16' Sled with a 50HP Jet pump on it. When i am making a hard turn the motor kicks up into the air for some reason i can not figure it out. I will also do it if i have a heavy load in the back of the boat when coming up onto plain. It just kicks up out of the water. I know its not the reverse cup because it is locking in forward position the only way to put it into reverse is to release the lock. Thanks for the help.

the reverse lock is controlled by the movement of the cup, the water is hitting the cup causing it to come up releasing the reverse hooks and deflecting the water flow into reverse. the cure may be a bungee cord on shift lever holding it into forward

Cool Re: Jet motor kicks up? HELP

Are you headed upstream when this happens ?
The combined force of the water traveling against the leading edge
of your intake and the movement of your boat upstream could do it ...
If your motor generated more thrust it probably would not do it so much or if you could lift it up a little ..

Boat dock the lock is actually on the lever on it self you can see it in the second to last picture by the base of the tiller handle.

easy fix you don't have the pin locked in on the shaft i bet you can pull it up on the trailer too lock the pin in on the shaft pic the hole you need and put a pin or bolt in there should be 2 or 3 to choose from

I am not following you. Are you talking about the engine trim pin?

Well that still dose not explain why when i am moving along at full throttle and start to turn and the motor kicks up out of the water. I think the Reverse bucket is kicking it into reverse some how i just can not figure out how. Thanks for the advice

Just because the shift lever is locked doesn't mean the bucket isn't moving. If it isn't adjusted correctly, or there's slop in the cable or linkage, the bucket can move from the water pressure.
