Max Boat Size For Situk River Alaska

I am building a drift boat for a guy in Alaska who fishes the situk river. I "heard" that you can't go longer than 16' tip to tip. Any truth to that? Thanks for the help.

When I was on the Situk around 2003, I saw a guide who had a 20ft Kofler drift boat coming down the river. He used to stay at the Glacier Bear lodge so you might quiz them.

Guide boats are limited to 16 ft. maximum! I have a friend who guides on the Situk who brought up a 21 ft. drift boat one year and the locals flipped because he was taking 4-5 clients/trip!! So the next year they put in the 16 ft. 3 client/boat 15 hp max. rule. As far as I know private boats are not limited for length or hp.
