Default first yote

Well, the yotes have been terrorizing my kids and the neighbors with all the yelping the last few mornings so I went out this morning and set up in a field next to a creek where there's only a few ways to cross the creek. I was a bit out in the open next to some old rolled up fencing so I got up and moved behind it and down into a bit of a hole. Not 2 minutes later I look up from messing with my gun and 2 yotes came out from behind the fencing roll....Not 15 yards away. The big one stopped looked at me and bolted. The other one did a 180 and then just stopped and looked right at me while I brought the trusty SKS up. There was nothing but brown in the scope. Bang! Flop! That was the easiest thing I've ever shot! No calling or nothing. Just a good guess to be in the right place at the right time. I'll probably try for the other one tomorrow.first yote.jpg

Congrats! Sounds to easy. Were you planning on calling and just didn't get the chance?

The FoxPro that I borrowed has a dead battery so I just had a little reed call in my pocket. I didn't have a chance to use it. It was really going to be just a recon mission to see how many were out there making so much noise the last few days, but I now know there were at least 2(only 1 now) It all happened so fast. There was nothing and then there they were right in front of me. I can't believe they didn't see me get up and switch sides just 2 minutes earlier. Good camo helps I guess. The other thing that got me was the view through the scope! Nothing but fur!!!!! Bang! Flop!
