Default Herring/sardine brines??

Looking for a brine for kwiky wraps? I normally just salt down my fillets, what does everyone else do?

We use Pro-Cure Brine'n'Bite for herring and just rock salt the sardine fillets.

I may be missing something here but isnt the point of wrapping a fillet of sardine on your kwikfish to add sent? If you salt or brine them in a salt solution you are drawing juice and scent out of the sardine and therefore decreasing the scent and oils in it. I use only as fresh as possible and change often.

Oh I forgot for herring a simple method for toughening up herring Plug cut them use plain salt (Table variety without iodine) plug cut first leave guts in and thow in a baggy coat with the salt add any other secret dry ingredients shake good and put in the cooler. they will fish great and no need for the brine. Pull the guts out and slit the vent before putting them on the hooks. Just like rolling them in flour before frying only your rolling them in fine salt. It also wont dent you baits like rock salt. No need for wearing rubber gloves when handling them they are coated in salt that washes off with your scent when they hit the water
