Default Trigger Job?

I recently picked up a Remington 700 .270 and finally got a chance to shoot it a few times. I really don't like the feel of the trigger. It seems to have too much travel and feels like it even "hangs up" in a couple spots. I'd like to take it to a gunsmith to get it worked over or maybe get a completely new trigger assembly. Can anybody recommend a good gunsmith for this type of work?

Remington 700 triggers are adjustable. You can find out how by searching the web for how to.. That's the way I did mine not long ago. If you are mechanical challenged let a gun smitty do it.

I don't have any one to point you to.

I just posted this same topic a couple days ago, I got some good info and had the work done. I have a Rem 700 300RUM and the trigger was like a brick. I took mine to Jim Cloward a couple days ago and got it back today. He charged me 40 bucks to adjust the trigger to 2.5 down from almost 10. It is awsome. Trigger adjustments on Rems are easy any gunsmith should be able to do it pretty easily.

Marcus from Al's gun shop "Forest Grove". Did a very nice job on my Remington M700 varmint rifle.

A good gunsmith will not only adjust it, but often disassembel the parts and clean up any rough spots before adjusting it. Brightwater Ventures and Allison Carey would be my top two choices.

The economy way to a accurate Remington 700

1. trigger job
2.free float barrel
3. glass bed action

these three jobs are not costly and improve a rem 700 like nite and day.you will be very happy with the results

Naw, for a "hunting trigger" the Rem 700's is great and adjustable.

If you need a 10-14 oz. rig for Varmint shooting, then like you say, use "other's" (I like Jewell's).
