Default Silver creeks, F-4 Phantoms, tiny little flies & feeling better

The big ones are waiting.
fed heavy on hoppers all summer long,
sipping and slurping
#22 miniflies off the top water.

I remember when I was about 10,
My dad drove us down.
.. I played SRV (Texas flood) for him (on a cassette tape)
... It flew by in just a few moments

maybe 25 miles on a straight out... dad was probably doing 100- 105 to get the for the evening hatch.
He grew up going fast, and putting the brains of those that went too fast back together (brain surgeon).

I had a trout as big as this one swim between my 10 yr old thighs.
I reckon the water downstream got a little warmer about that time.

Got even warmer when an F-4 Phantom came by and busted the mist off the bow as it split the sound barrier....
I was a lucky boy.

I finally got one to a hopper a few years back.
was a really nice day.
So I was a lucky man as well....

and that makes me feel a little better about the way things are today

Since nothing can take that smile off of my face from where I was....

I'd like to get a smile on my face for where I'm about to go
