Default Help in Troubling Times

I'm a long ways from being a good or religious man, and so am not preaching now. These suggestions are meant to help those who may need it.
I learned a long time ago, from a radio preacher, the key to a better life for me. He said "when you give up control, you gain control. When you try to gain control, you lose all control."
A couple of years later, in the depths of despair, going through divorce and child support/visitation issues and lawyers hell, I asked God, in prayer, to take control of my problems, as I could not solve any of them. A kind of peace came over me. The problems were no longer mine. Issues were slowly resolved. Life got much better - better than my imagination could have foretold.
So that is the secret for me. Ask God to TAKE your problems from you. Give up that control of your life. Give the control to God He (she) will take those problems and turn them into his solutions, as God created all the huge Universe, that Being can solve your teeny bumps in the road of our temporary existence!!! God is everywhere, even in you. Just ask.

That was very well said. I think every one needs a reminder every once in a while that you can't do every thing on your own. There will alway be some one there to help you through what you can not do your self.

That's very true. Jesus warned us about worrying, and for good reason.

We, as humans, are very stubborn people (at least I am ) and we want to be in control. BUT, like you said, it comes to a point where you FINALLY can't handle it anymore and you give up and let God take over.

Funny how problems seem to work themselves out after you stop fighting them.

I like to be in control also however the longer I live the more I know that I am not in control. By admitting that I have become free of the responsibility that control requires. God is my Pilot and my job is but to submit to his control and live life to the fullest.
