Default Sandy River: "Its time!"

I just returned from the upper Sandy, what a afternoon! Ended up going 2 for 3 in about three hours of time. The first was a 10#(or so) nate, the second, was a 8# brood! Yup, there here! The water was dropping and the clearity was almost gin, but lighter gear and the right colors will pay off. sorry no pics, anyone got a used digital?

Thanks for the post.
I do like the Sandy these last few days... 8 pounder doesn't sound like a brood. They are running like 14+. They are huge with huge shoulders. But who cares.... YOU GOT FISH!!!! Awesome job

Yea, I agree w/ya YD, but the right maxilary was missing. I was led to believe that this is what they do to the brood's. Anyways, thank you! If you did not post earlier I would not have known!

I have been fishing the sandy quite a bit but dont have all the knowledge that most of you do. I was wondering what the right gear and colors would be for right now? -david

Dave, I used a little peach corkie. When I say little I mean the smallest you can get(16?) Pink is also a very productive color, pink-pearlcorkie and white yarn is my favorite low clear water drift combo. Jigs are also good, pink and white as well as purple and black.

ADRM fish on the Sandy are BIG CREEK stock, 3 salts and they will be chunky. Enjoy them, this is the last time they will be in the system.
Broodstock fish are AD only and most of them this year will be small, with a few exceptions....
