question 1: Anyone know if there are any springers in the channel? Anyone catching?
question 2: What is the technical river term for, say, the start of the channel when it breaks from the Willamette (where everyone fishes)? Is there a term for that? Headwaters doesn't seem right. Or is it just "start of the channel"?
I think you are kinda correct. I believe people refer to the "Head of the Channel" when speaking about the area up near Fred's Marina near Linnton. The end of the channel near St Helens could be called the "mouth"......i just say in the 'lower part of the channel'.
.....and to answer the first part of your question......very few springerz are being caught in the channel right now. I heard of 1 fish last Saturday in the entire middle-lower stretch.
