Just curious if anyone wants to fess up to hooking a Springer yet- I have not heard or seen of one getting caught in the tribs. yet, butt recently read that there might have been last weekend. Anyone? Bueller?????
Fish On!
Rumors only.....nothing being caught.
Only been 480 steelhead go over the Falls. What's going on?
I think my buddy,Carl ('Pops' as Bernie calls him), has the answer
to catch springers. Call him up. He doesn't charge much for lessons.:applause::applause:
480 over the falls- which falls are we talking here?
I might just have to call Pops to seez what kinds of answeres he's givin. Dont know if I have the coin right now for any lessons- maybe he should call me and we can compare lessons-lol
I think the pattern you will find is that there seems to be a little burst of springers that enter the Willamette system rather early...first couple 3 weeks of February. If you are lotto-lucky and have the time, you may intercept a small batch of these fish. But reality usually sets in as that pilot run dissapates rather quickly. There seems to be a dead spell and then, about 3 weeks later, mid march, numbers of fish will increase again and make it worth your while to launch the boat at daylight.
thanks-
I picked up one nice steel yesterday-
limited out today -yes the smelt are in.
might chase mr smiley tomorrow
good luck
