Default Depoe fuel update?

I don't know what happened to my original post about this? Mixed in the shuffle I guess? Any news about the fuel situation at Depoe Bay? I called yesterday and was told there was a commitee still working on it.

When I talked to the guys at Dopey Bay last Saturday they were still
saying that we'd have fuel "this spring". I hope it is soon!

OK, so here's the latest scoop ... according to one of the Harbor Commission
folks that spent the whole day on Pacific Mistress with me all day Saturday,
the money has been approved. The engineering study has been done. Now all we
have to wait for is for work to commence. Target for completion is still
before the start of the sport Coho season. Anybody know when
*that* is?? I'm guessing before the middle of June ?

Sure wish they would get with the program. I really dislike to have to run
clear to Newport to fill up. Cuts into the fishing time, IfYaKnowWhatIMean!!!

That's good news. I remembered the fuel situation AFTER I sent in my check for a moorage spot for the summer.
If I keep it in the water for three months I shouldn't have a problem with the unpainted bottom should I? I have so much buffing to do on my boat this spring, I'm tying myself in knots just thinking about it. The gelcoat is so dry I need to sand the whole top of the boat with 1000 grit just to start with!

Hi Greg,

If you are not going to put bottom paint on your boat, I would suggest that
you put several coats of wax on it before you put it in the water. I
think you'll find that over 3 months you'll get quite a bit of growth
even if you *do* wax the heck out of it. The wax will just make
it easier to get the slime and barnacles off ...

Also, if you are planning on plugging in to shore power for any length
of time at all I would like to suggest that you make sure that your zincs
are up to snuff on your outdrives/outboards. Even though the port spent
$11k this year to fix the electrical wiring problems in port there are still
a lot of folks in port using both substandard power cords and automobile
type battery chargers.

Good luck this year!!
