Default Cheap Outriggers

Does anybody know if the Church Telescoping Outriggers advertised in Cabelas are worth the $22. I am looking for something cheap to use for recreational Tuna/Salmon outriggers and don't want to spend big $$. Thanks. RBF

I've looked at them for a couple years, the price is great, but if I'm Ocean fishing I wonder if you could put any weight on them before they popped off, I think I will order one and give it a try, like you said its the cheapest thing going. I know it would work for top water stuff, but if you add a diver or some lead I don't know if it could take the pressure.....Ray

I too was thinking they might be on the whimpy side. Got to think of the additional costs as well....2 more rod holders and outrigger kits. The cost goes up to maybe $50-$75 each but still cheap compared to "real" outriggers. I like the fact that they can be easily removed and stored when not in use. And, you don't have to add more holes in your boat. I have made the mistake of buying cheap tackle before then being dissatified so I am still scatching my head...RBF
